Core concepts

Modrex is built around a few concepts that stay the same as more games are added. Game pages explain the current values for each game; concept pages explain how those values behave in the app.

  • Games and targets explains the active game, per-game settings, and target tags such as mods, paks, mod_overrides, and ue4ss_mods.
  • Archives and loaders explains how Modrex classifies downloads, local archives, mixed-target modpacks, and loader dependencies.
  • Priority and state explains visual order, filename prefixes, enabled state, missing files, and .modrex.json.
  • Launch modes explains normal launch, launch without mods, temporary backups, restore behavior, and launch options.

Start with Supported games when you need a game-specific folder or launcher matrix. Use concepts when the same behavior appears across multiple games and you need to understand what Modrex is doing.
